MP3PLAY-1s module is a component of the Ampio Smart Home system.
The module is controlled via CAN bus. Its power supply requires voltage in range of 12-16VDC.
It is equipped with a bus connector, as are all wired Ampio modules. This module also has audio output to be connected to a bus-operated A/V receiver (MAMP-1s) or any other amplifier.
The device’s cover shows three indicators:
- CAN indicator which indicates information on bus communication and its correct operation;
- Play indicator which indicates a song is being played;
- Status indicator which indicates operating status of the device.
Inside the case, there is a slot for microSD card to be used for storing audio files in mp3 or wav format, compatible with the 11172-3 and ISO13813-3 layer 3 standards.
Permissible sampling frequencies (in kHz): 8, 11.025, 12, 16, 22.05, 24, 32, 44.1 and 48.
The card has to be formatted in FAT32 system, and any stored folders and files have to meet the following conditions. Folders have to be named by numbers. Their names should
be included in the range of 1…99, with a leading zero. Therefore, folder names have to be like this: 01, 02, 03, …, 99. The module may contain up to 3,000 audio files, and their names have to include the song number in the form of a 4-digit number with leading zeros; therefore, file names have to be like this: 0001.mp3, 0002.wav etc. until 3000.mp3. The original file names may be kept, provided that the file number as specified above is added in front. For example, if the original filename is “Yesterday Once More.mp3”, upon copying it to the card its name has to change to: “0001Yesterday Once More.mp3”.

The module may be programmed with a special programmer, available for authorised technicians, and the Ampio SmartHome CAN configurator software. This program provides for setting up the module’s response to input signals and other information from the CAN bus.
